School Therapy Services

Services

Direct Treatment Services - Our therapist’s primary goal is to work directly with your child.  This service may involve removing the student from the classroom to work individually within an environment that is set up to encourage progress toward goals.  Alternately, this therapy may happen within the classroom setting, when the therapeutic interventions are not disruptive to the classroom and when the classroom environment is an important part of the therapy package.  Working with the child’s teacher, while important, is not the primary focus of Direct Treatment.

Consultative Treatment Services - Our therapist’s primary goal is to work with your child’s teacher, classroom aide and others that have contact with your child on a daily basis. The therapist is familiar with the details of your child’s needs and will work with the teacher to suggest training / teaching strategies,  therapeutic activities,  modifications to teaching materials, classroom set up,  structure or teaching methods to help your child reach goals established by their educational team.  While working directly with the child is not the primary focus of Consultative Treatment, your child may work directly with the therapist from time to time to check skills and specific intervention plans.
